So What If We Don't Get LeBron?

NBA Teams are salivating over the opportunity of getting Mr.LeBron James, so much so that their firing head coaches and GM's, trading players left and right and giving up high draft picks, but I wonder, has the thought ever crossed anybodies mind that, only one team can have him? So what what if they don't get LeBron?

Mike Brown, gone, Danny Ferry, gone, guy who sells the peanuts in the 3rd row gone. Everybody is at risk because Cleveland's number one priority is re-signing LeBron James. But LeBron is not acting like the feeling is mutual. He wears Yankees, hats, hangs out with Jay-Z and likes Philly Cheese Steaks, not Ohio's specialty. It would be a blow of massive proportions if he decided to sell his home in Akron and move elsewhere. LeBron James literally supports Cleveland's economy, the revenue he pulls in for tickets sales and paraphernalia keep small businesses open, allow jobs in the local media market  available and keeps people spending money. Without LeBron, their left with Shaq as the frontman of the team, now unless Shaq is telling Kobe to tell him how his ass taste, nobody cares about Mr.O'Neal. Then the team would start losing, like all Cleveland teams do, Indians, Browns, etc.If James were to leave his team, the city of Cleveland would die, the entire city and all his inhabitants, drop dead and die like the people from The Happening, which sucked ass, thanks M. Night Shamalyan for another weird crappish movie.

The City of Dreams, The Concrete Jungle, the lights, the cameras and the biggest media market in the world, the perfect spot for LeBron right? New York has put together a list of celebrities to woo LeBron into becoming a Knick. Donald Trump, Alec Baldwin, Charlie Rose, Whoopi Goldberg, Phil Simms, Spike Lee and Chris Rock have created a dream team much similar to Jordans' and Olajuwons', ok, maybe not so much. but is Spike Lee really someone you wanna take basketball advice from, the man that supported the drafting of  Ranaldo Balkman and Jordan Hill. Well what if LeBron pulls a Kobe move and ignores Chris Rock and crew?

If he doesn't go to New York, Knicks fans will surely lose all hope in basketball, the days of Patrick Ewing, Willis Reed & Earl Monroe will never come again. The Knicks have been looking to sign LeBron for over 3 years now getting rid of Stephan Marbury, Ed Curry, Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson & Zach Randolph to clear up the their cap space. They've went through horrible seasons, Chris Duhon is their starting point guard, yikes!!! The fans have been sold believing that all this was to get The King, if they come up short, they still have cap room to get a few superstars, but is Joe Johnson, Amar'e Stoudemire or Chris Bosh an acceptable consultation prize? I think D Lee's feeling would be hurt too, LeBron doesn't seem to care that he's on the team, he rather see him traded for someone, I thought they were buds too.

Seriously.....

Everything seems primed and ready to go, Pat Riley has woken up and is ready to steal another championship team, Dwayne Wade seems set on staying in Miami, despite Obama and the BP's conspiracy http://bcreme.blogspot.com/2010/06/oil-spills-for-dummies.html, and the addition of Chris Bosh could turn Miami into the all 2k team. This seems like a certain championship, but what if LeBron says nay to the Heat Partay? It could be the jerseys, LeBron's Cavs by far have the most and the coolest Jerseys in the NBA, some of which I think they created because all those throwbacks I don't believe were ever worn, and Miami Jerseys are pretty simple and boring. Not suiting to the fashionista that Mr. James is. It could be  LeBron doesn't want to share the spotlight with anyone, if he were to win a championship with D Wade, he would seem like a cop out, a leech, a punk, could you disagree? If Miami doesn't get LeBron they still be ok, they'll either get Chris Bosh/Carlos Boozer and Joe Johnson/Ray Allen so its not the end of the world. But, as of right now, the Miami Heat have almost no players on their roster, only Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasly, who has made his dying plee to stay on the team, are under contract. Not having LeBron would mean reconstructing an entire team, which may prove to be very difficult and not guaranteeing a ring.

The Nets have a new billionaire owner, Mikhail Prokhorov who is perhaps the coolest Russian since Drago from Rocky IV, they have the minority owner, Jay-Z who is arguably the greatest rapper of all time, and also LeBron's BFF. They have $30 Million dollars worth of cap space and won 12 games last season, so their nowhere to go but up. talented players such as Devin Harris, Aaron Brooks, Chris Douglass Roberts and Terrance Williams could be the cast that LeBron needs. The teams in 2 years will move to Brooklyn, putting LeBron in that Empire State of Mind people say he desires. But what if LeBron decides not to call New Jersey/Brooklyn his home?

Well for one, it would be a huge blow to the future legacy of Mikhail Prokhorov, he came in with huge expectations and superpowers. I actually thought he had laser vision, he's the true embodiment of Dos Equis, the most interesting man in the world. If he doesn't land James he would be viewed as, well, human. Just another NBA owner of a bad franchise. They also have no appeal to any of the other superstars. LeBron is the only person that could take this roster to a NBA Finals, Paul Pierce, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitiki and other couldn't do much with this other than make the playoffs, they don't make players better than what they are like James does. this could also hurt the relationship of LeBron and Hov and the Legacy of HOV. Jay might want LeBron to stop throwing up the rock sign, LeBron might want Jay to stop referencing to him in punchlines. It could get messy, Hov is Michael Corleone and LeBron is Fredo, stabbing Jay and the Nets in the back by not joining the family, I can hear Jay now "You hurt my heart LeBron, YOU HURT MY HEART!!!!"

Chicago has their own legacy , their own Knight in shining armor, his name was Michael Jeffery Jordan, the greatest player to ever do it. But there was nothing before Jordan in Chicago and nothing after him. LeBron could save the franchise and they probably have the best supporting cast of all the teams mentioned. An all-star PG in Derrick Rose, a great big man in Joakim Noah, with pieces like Loul Deng, James Johnson and the ability to do a sign and trade to acquire another max free agent, if everything went to plan, The Bulls would easily be the best team in the East. So if they don't get LeBron what could that mean for the Bulls if the don't pick up Jordan #2?
It could mean total complacency for Chicago, they have a good already without LeBron, but nothing special, just another first round exit, I mean, they've got to be tired of that. It would also be disappointment since they made moves to acquire him, trading Hinrich, firing Vinny Del Negro and having a food festival dedicated to him, I mean, how cool is that? its awesome, that what it is. So if they don't land him, they're left with a big food festival and no star and not many options to make a Championship leap getting other superstars. They could possibly increase their chances if they would agree to unretiring Jordan's number so James could wear #23, but I don't see that happening,
All these teams seem to forget that they can't all have LeBron, he just one man. One team is gonna be very happy and successful, and the others will be in limbo, trying to figure out....now what?
