Em' push about 700,000 units in his first week making it not only the highest first week hip-hop album sales this year but also the highest first week albums in an genre this year. If you fall into the above category I’m not talkin to you, ya’ll straight. But summa ya’ll went natural, grabbed the closest copy of “The Souls of Black Folk,” and started on your campaign to conjure up some “dormant” appreciation of our African American heritage on every tan person who now crosses your path.

Drizzy Drake did live up to the hype, the "realistic" hype. His album debuted at no.1 on the billboard charts in this first week selling around 463,000 copies, nearly breaking Gold status. This is what I expected and in this trying time in the economy this is an AMAZING number for a hip-hop artist, well, probably not as amazing as Eminem is gonna do next week but still, pretty amazing.
